QUESTIONS
Q. How can patients book an appointment at the Cold & Flu Clinic?
A. Appointments can be booked either online by using an existing MyChart account, through Open Scheduling if you have never been a patient at Mackenzie Health, or by telephone. To book by telephone, call our Scheduling Office at 905-883-1212 ext. 2004 and press 1. Appointments can be made to a maximum of 48 hours in advance.
Q. Who should go to a Cold & Flu Clinic?
A. The Cold & Flu Clinic is for patients between 1-65 years old who have any of the following symptoms:
-fever
-cough
-congestion
-sore throat
-ear pain
-and/or nausea
Patients with shortness of breath, and/or active vomiting or diarrhea will not be seen in this clinic.
Q. Who will be seeing patients at the Cold & Flu Clinic?
A. ER physicians.
Q. What testing is available for patients at the Cold & Flu Clinic?
A. Patient workup can include:
-a chest x-ray
-a throat swab
-a Covid swab
Patients requiring further workup or assessments will be referred to the Emergency Department. The only medications administered at the Cold & Flu Clinic are Tylenol and/or Advil.
PLEASE NOTE:
The Covid Assessment Centre is being moved to the same location. There will no longer be a Covid Assessment Centre at Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill. Although the two clinics will use the same resources, the hours will be slightly different as the Covid Assessment Centre continues to be open from 9AM - 7PM.
